- Legal Guardian Adoptions
If you have been legally married to your step-children’s biological parent for more than a year, and the children’s other biological parent isn’t paying child support or communicating with the children, then you may seek to legally adopt your step-children.
You may also adopt your adult step-children under certain conditions.
Legal Guardian Adoptions
If you have a court order granting you legal guardianship of minor children, and you have had legal guardianship for more than a year, you may qualify to adopt the children.
If you have children living with you, and you are not the children’s parent or stepparent, but the child is related to you, and has lived with you for more than a year, then you may qualify to adopt the children.
